Arohanui

Arts & Education Trust

Arohanui Art & Education Trust is a Charitable Trust formed to provide access to services and support for people with disabilities living in the Te Puke and surrounding district. The Te Puke Day Service is the first project of this Trust and is an Arts Based facility located in Commerce Lane Te Puke.

Objectives of this service are to provide artistic and educational opportunities for people with intellectual disability so they can develop to their own greatest potential, and take part in and be supported by their own community. (Currently people are being transported to Mt Maunganui or Te Puna for services).

The centre will also be available for the wider Te Puke community to access through art and craft classes for children and adults, and we hope, as a base for community art projects – raising Arts awareness and adding to the richness and diversity of community life in Te Puke.

This project is supported by the Ministry of Health but the Trust seeks financial assistance for establishment costs and programme development.
